In honor of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman and Larry Twele, CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority (HCEDA), and other business leaders met for breakfast at The Arc of Howard County, where they toured the facility and received an update on the Project SEARCH.

Project Search is a work initiative to support employment skills and opportunities for youth with disabilities in their final year of school. The program is a collaborative partnership with The Arc of Howard County, the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS), the Howard County Autism Society, the Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Government of Howard County. County departments have been the major employment sites for SEARCH interns.

Carey, an employer of a Project SEARCH graduate, spoke of his experience; and Moyer shared other graduate success stories and updated attendees on the progress of the 12 current interns who will be looking for employment once they graduate from the program in June.
