C3MD Announces the Return of Ignite Howard County & Calls for Speakers

Ignite Howard County is back! Tickets are currently available for Ignite Howard County #8, which will be held on Monday, October 23 at Jailbreak Brewing Company from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. For the eighth time since 2015, Howard County hosts its own “Ignite Talks” event. Part of a global movement to build community and spark discussion, the event will feature 10+ thought-provoking speakers each presenting for five minutes with 20 slides. The evening is hosted by Conscious Capitalism Central Maryland Chapter (C3MD).

Speaker application deadline for Ignite Howard County #8 is Sunday, September 17, 2023. “Enlighten us, but make it quick!” is the mantra for this fast and furious event. Whether the speaker teaches us something, causes us to think deeper, entertains, or simply inspires, the goal is to create conversations and collaboration in the Howard County community. Applicants are required to submit a short presentation proposal through the Ignite Howard County website. Proposal and speaker guidelines are available at https://ignitehowardcounty.com/speaking/.

The first Ignite took place in Seattle in 2006, and since then the event has become an international phenomenon. The first Ignite Howard County took place in 2015 as an initiative of the Howard County Economic Development Authority and community partners. Conscious Capitalism of Central Maryland took over as organizer in 2018 and looks forward to continuing the tradition of bringing the community together.
