Quoth the LHS: It’s a Party for Poe Sunday, October 20 at the Laurel Museum. Join the Laurel Historical Society (LHS) as we mark October’s 170th Anniversary of Poe’s passing with a very special Poe-themed afternoon. Actor Stephen Mead will perform dramatic recitations of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Bells,” “The Raven,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart” every half hour starting at 1:15. Mead has performed his Poe recitations throughout the US, including the Poe House in Baltimore. A graduate of London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, he has also performed in the UK and in DC area at the Shakespeare Theatre, the Arts Club and the Athenaeum. Suggested donation $5.00. 817 Main Street, Laurel. The Laurel Museum is open Sundays 1-4:00 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The current exhibition: “Is There a Doctor in the House?
