The City of Laurel will be the first city in Maryland to host the GoldStars Tribute Wall.

It is the only traveling memorial of its kind that honors the 7,416 fallen heroes of the Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan Wars.

From Friday, Sept. 23, to Sunday, Sept. 25, the Tribute Wall will be on display around the clock at American Legion Post 60, at 2 Main Street. It will be illuminated for night viewing and safety.

The American Legion will host two ceremonies, and a Walk for Vets while the wall is on display, rain or shine:
Friday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m.: Honor the Fallen Ceremony
Saturday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m.: Presentation
Sunday, Sept. 25, at noon: 2.2 mile Walk for Vets
The Walk will begin and end at American Legion Post 60. The Wall will be taken down immediately following the Walk.

The Wall display is sponsored by American Legion Post 60, as well as the City of Laurel, Sons of American Legion Squadron 60, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 60, and Walk for Vets. Volunteers from these organizations will assist with the wall and security.
