Ex-Post Commander Rothstein Opens ERA Advisory

Since retiring from the Army after serving as a garrison commander and resigning as president and CEO of Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp., Ed Rothstein has become a small businessperson with the establishment of ERA Advisory, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business.

“After 30-plus years serving our Army in uniform, retiring in 2013, and then being an economic developer for the following year, it was time to go from being a farmer to being a hunter,” said Rothstein. “My last responsibility in the Army was being the installation commander at Fort Meade, where there were more than 115 organizations (including NSA, USCYBERCOM and DISA) and a workforce of 50,000-plus.”

Establishing ERA Advisory will enable Rothstein to “focus on building an elite client base of compatible security companies to guide to market, where I can accelerate their growth by 18 months or more by helping them to prepare themselves,” followed by what he called “warm introductions in the right places.”

In addition to this effort, he will remain active in the community via teaching at Anne Arundel Community College and by volunteering on nonprofit boards within the area, including the Fort Meade Alliance, BWI Business Partnership, Partners in Care and the Carroll County Veterans Commission, while remaining an advocate for the military, veterans and education.
