Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense (CAE2Y) through 2020 by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
This redesignation as a CAE2Y recognizes the college for its commitment to allocating funding and resources to maintain and enhance credit and noncredit cybersecurity education and training programs. The college also was evaluated on its institutional policies and procedures, which address cybersecurity issues and maintaining the integrity of its systems and data.
Other integral elements of the application required AACC to provide proof of active participation in the community to enhance citizen access to cybersecurity training and education programs, evidence of shared curricular activities and agreements with other academic institutions, and general community outreach.
The college offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, with options in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, and Cyber Forensics, as well as various credit certificates in cyber and network security. For information, visit www.aacc.edu/computertech.
