The Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant has hired Tamara Griffin as general manager of dining services; she previously held the same position at Glen Meadows Retirement Community, in Glen Arm. Also, Don Knepper was selected as the director of facilities management. He is employed by Sodexo Senior Living, which provides maintenance services for the village.

Keller NA Names Hussin

Keller North America, of Hanover, has appointed James Hussin as business development and marketing director for the company. Previously, Hussin served as a director for Hayward Baker, also of Hanover, one of seven Keller NA companies.

Tohn Cited by SmartCEO

David Tohn, CEO of BTS Software Solutions, a software development company; and Verb8tm, a speech-to-text services firm, has been named by Under Armour and Baltimore SmartCEO magazine as the winner of the Game Changer Award at the publication’s 2015 Circle of Excellence Awards. Tohn also won the Small Technology Business Circle of Excellence Award.

Lang Passes CPCM Exam

Linda Lang, of KatzAbosch, has passed her Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) exam. The certification demonstrates that she has met the National Contract Management Association’s highest standards for education, training and experience, and has demonstrated knowledge of the contract management competencies in the Contract Management Body of Knowledge.

Columbia-based Bay Bank has hired Jonathan Zemarel as a mortgage loan officer. Zemarel has more than 40 years of experience in the mortgage banking/brokerage and real estate industry and has held positions at companies such as 1st Mariner Bank, First Home Mortgage and Maryland National Mortgage, among others.

TFCU Hires New VPs

Tower Federal Credit Union (TFCU) has hired Rick Stafford as the new senior vice president of member services. In his new position, Stafford, who has more than 25 of years retail banking experience, will lead and direct TFCU’s Member Services Division, which is composed of the Member Service Center, Tower Financial Services and Branch Administration.

TFCU also hired Daniel Balkin as its new vice president of marketing and e-commerce. Balkin has more than 25 years of marketing experience and has held multiple leadership positions in the financial services industry.

Webb Scornaienchi Grad of Leadership Maryland

Stetler Joins Arundel Federal

Harkins Hires Tillotson

Harkins Builders announced that Mark Tillotson has joined the company as vice president. He will lead its commercial division. He previously served as a director at Harvey-Cleary Builders, and has overseen the construction of 4.5 million square feet of commercial office space in the Washington, D.C., area.

HCPSS Educator Named No. 1

Howard County Public Schools educator Jody Zepp has been named the top Claes Nobel Educator of the Year by the National Society of High School Scholars. With that honor, Zepp will be awarded $5,000 to further her professional and educational goals.
