BWCC’s Membership 101, which meets the second Thursday of the month from 9–10:30 a.m. is a free, interactive seminar where members and prospective members alike learn about the benefits of being a member of the chamber, to include information about the various affinity programs such as the Chamber’s Energy Cooperative and Office Depot Program. Small Business Advisory Group meets the fourth Thursday of the month from 9:30–11 a.m. and offers business owners an opportunity to learn how to manage the challenges and success that all business owners face. Peer-to-peer discussions on business growth. Free at the BWCC offices.
Talent Exchange is a monthly meeting that meets on the first Thursday of the month and is a group idea exchange that discusses workforce hiring, maintenance and retention best practices, shares résumés and learns about workforce resources in the region. This is a very intimate, interactive event that is more of a discussion than a presentation, although presentations may be included.
These events are geared toward BWCC members who work in a human resources capacity and/or fill open positions within their company or are in businesses to assist job seekers. Non-BWCC members (guests) are encouraged to attend to see one of the many values the BWCC delivers. Attendees are business owners, human resource professionals, managers, recruiters, résumé writing consultants, Workforce Development Organization representatives, etc. Currently, the group is being facilitated by Brian Barrett of Payroll Network.
