Loyola University Maryland’s School of Education joins the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation, a programmatic accrediting organization that is nationally recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
After researching national accreditation organizations, Loyola’s School of Education decided to join the AAQEP due to its high standards and evidence-based approach. The membership-based association and quality assurance agency provides accreditation services and formative support to all types of educator preparation providers.
AAQEP has membership of more than 180 educator preparation providers in 31 states and other jurisdictions, with 65 providers in 14 states and territories now AAQEP-accredited. Loyola is working with faculty and representatives from AAQEP to determine a future date for quality assurance review.
Loyola’s School of Education will be under review for accreditation for three years with hopes of achieving accreditation by 2026 or 2027.
