Fred Matthes has been named the first general manager of the Annapolis Blues FC. Matthes was part of Major League Soccer in D.C. United’s front office from the league’s outset in 1995, when he led its ticketing and service departments

Blues FC has also announced additions to the team’s ownership group. They are Annapolis-based entrepreneurs Brandon and Caite Bartlett; Ethan Dietrich, also a local entrepreneur; and sports media personality Dave Johnson, who recently concluded a 25-year run as the television play-by-play voice of United. They join Blues FC Owner and Managing Partner Michael Hitchcock, and former MLS Players Kyle Beckerman and Alex Yi.
