Maryland Commerce Secretary Kelly Schulz announced her candidacy for Governor of Maryland.
Schulz, a Republican, previously served as Maryland’s Secretary of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. She was a small business owner in the cybersecurity industry and also a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates.
If elected, she would be the first female governor in Maryland history. The primary is scheduled to take place on June 28, 2022.
