Kittleman Announces Leadership Appointments

Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman has named Phyllis Madachy director of the Department of Citizen Services. Madachy has worked in community-based aging services since 1974. Kittleman also named Starr Pavis Sowers administrator of the Office on Aging. Sowers has more than 30 years of experience in the field.

Weichert Announces New Brokers

Weichert Realtors Platinum Service, of Glen Burnie, has announced that Brandon Hargreaves earned his Broker’s license from the Maryland Real Estate Commission; and hired Lisa-Ann Walker as a real estate agent. Walker is working with clients in Anne Arundel, Prince George’s and Howard counties, as well as Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Colliers | Baltimore Names Portfolio Accountant

Colliers International, in Baltimore, has hired India Bascombe as a portfolio accountant. In her new position, Bascombe will oversee the financial reporting of more than 2 million square feet of retail, industrial and medical office buildings in the area.

NextLOGiK Names Adhikari

NextLOGiK, of Columbia, has named Prabin Adhikari as operations research analyst. Adhikari, who has experience in mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, reasoning and problem solving, will streamline NextLOGiK’s business operations.

AACS Announces Return of Athletic Director

Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) has announced the return of Jim Domoracki as the new athletic director. Domoracki served as the athletic director at AACS from 2010–13 and has since served as the athletic director for the Peddie School, a private boarding school in Hights-town, N.J., where he oversaw and managed an athletic program with 25 sports and more than 100 coaches.

EBA Engineering Hires Bernardo

Carmer Named to Run Neighbor Ride

Andy Carmer has been elected to serve as the president of Neighbor Ride’s board of directors. Carmer, vice president–commercial automotive, with SunTrust Bank, has been a member of Neighbor Ride’s board for six years, serving on the executive committee since 2010.

Hetherington Bestowed Honorary Degree

Kate Hetherington, president of Howard Community College (HCC), recently returned to her alma mater, Community College of Philadelphia (CCP), to deliver the commencement address and to receive a Doctorate of Humane Letters. CCP selected Hetherington for the honor in “recognition of her outstanding achievements as an educator, an outstanding leader and contributor to higher education, and an alumna.”

TFCU Hires New VP

Tower Federal Credit Union (TFCU) has hired Rhonda Pierce-Brooks as the new vice president/director of human resources. She is responsible for leading the development of human resources strategies to support TFCU’s ability to serve its more than 134,000 members.

Hahn Honored by MAESP

Carol Hahn, principal at Ellicott City’s Bellows Spring Elementary School, was recently named the 2015 National Distinguished Principal by the Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals (MAESP).
