Leadership Howard County (LHC) has announced the addition of new members to its 2015–16 board of directors. They include Susan Case, Howard County General Hospital; Raj Kudchadkar, Howard County Government; Jeff Marquina, Corporate Office Properties Trust; Dottie Paxton, The Columbia Bank; and Karen Trendler, Sandy Spring Bank.

TEDCO Board Announces New Executive Officers

The Maryland Technology Development Corp.’s (TEDCO) board of directors has elected four new executive officers. They will serve for one year. They are Newt Fowler, chair, Womble Carlyle; Francis Smyth, vice chair, Century Engineering; Matthew Lee, secretary, FASTech; and Luke Cooper, treasurer, Peach.

HCC Educational Foundation Announces New Board Members

Howard Community College Educational Foundation (HCCEF) has announced the addition of three new members to its board of directors. They are Dave Hartman, co-founder of Hartman Executive Advisors with his wife and business partner, Marie; Rodney Oddoye, manager of electric distribution operations at BGE; and Katrina Thompson, senior program manager at LG-TEK.

Champion Adds Allen

Champion Realty, of Severna Park, has hired Lisa Allen as its property and casualty insurance agent. She brings a wealth of experience in personal coverage and home finance to the company’s insurance arm.

CarneyKelehan Names Two

Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett & Scherr, of Columbia, hired Peter Fastow and Lauren Friedrich as associate attorneys. Fastow, who has been practicing law in Maryland for 23 years, specializes in affordable housing, community development, commercial real estate and finance law; Friedrich advises and represents Maryland school systems, as well as construction companies, industries which the firm has served for more than 30 years.

Botek, Parekh Make IMPACT

IMPACT Marketing & Public Relations, of Columbia, has added two new employees to its in-house team. They are Anne-Marie Botek, copywriter, who has authored various materials including three eBooks, an award-winning digital editorial on Alzheimer’s disease and more than 600 articles; and Seema Parekh, accounting manager, who has 25 years’ accounting experience, with a focus on small businesses.

SECU’s Staatz ‘Most Admired CEO’

Rod Staatz, president and CEO of SECU, is a recipient of the 2015 Most Admired CEO Award from The Daily Record. Staatz has directed the continued growth of SECU, which now has more than 230,000 members, 22 branches and ranks among the top 50 credit unions in the U.S. for total assets, which topped $2.8 billion as of June 2015.

Ellicott City Resident Selected for Fellowship

Ellicott City resident Chisom Uzosike has been selected as one of 30 fellows to participate in Challenge Detroit, an urban revitalization program. Uzosike was chosen from hundreds of applicants to collaborate with individuals from all over the country and live, work, play, give and lead in Detroit.

Arundel Federal Adds Gunnell

Arundel Federal Savings Bank has announced that Bill Gunnell has joined the bank as assistant vice president and compliance officer. Gunnell was previously employed by Sandy Spring Bank and has many years of compliance experience, also with Chevy Chase Bank and First Mariner Bank.

SECU Names Hazan VP

SECU has named Steve Hazan as assistant vice president of business services. He will oversee SECU’s Business Services team, including commercial loan originations and servicing, small business lending and cash management services.

Colliers Names Brophy Property Manager

Colliers International has hired Emily Brophy as a property manager. Brophy has more than seven years of experience in commercial real estate management, from day-to-day operations to the planning, construction and development of new properties.

Braithwaite Joins EPS

Hubert Braithwaite has joined Edwards Project Solutions (EPS), of Elkridge, as business development manager. He is working with management to build the company’s commercial business portfolio in its core areas of leadership management, training solutions and business practices, among others. He was previously employed by Tower Federal Credit Union.

Lighthouse Senior Living Intros New Executive Director

Lighthouse Senior Living, an assisted living and memory community, has appointed Amanda O’Neill executive director at its Ellicott City location. Previously, O’Neill served as executive director for the Brightview Senior Living communities in Catonsville and Timonium.
